When I opened my guild page this morning –> Immersion I noticed the recruitment note has been updated and is big! So, why not give a hand since this blog has a decent number of readers daily and maybe some of you are looking for a new home.

1. Immersion
is a high-end PvE raiding guild on Auchindoun. We were formed just before WotLK from a merge between the raiding forces of the long standing Al’Akirian guilds Stature of the Gods and Midnight Reveries. We recently transferred to Auchindoun to hopefully escape lag and queues. Our goal is to become one of the top guilds in the world without requiring our members to give up on their real life commitments. We currently raid 20-25 hours a week between Sunday and Thursday. Our commitment is making every second of our raid time productive and directed towards progressing the guild through new content as quickly as possible. This is why we keep our raiding squad small so that we don’t have to learn a new encounter from the start of the raid each day because ~90% of the people who were there the previous day will be present again, and those who missed out on the raid are expected to read and contribute towards the tactics discussions on the forums.
This is the introduction you can also read on the usual recruitment post from forums but is easier to find all the info in a single post.
Progression wise the history looks good in Wotlk:
We have had great success so far in Ulduar with the guild ranked as 20th in the world for killing Yogg-Saron during the first reset, even though we spent time on Flame Leviathan to secure a world 3rd hard mode kill in the same week. Since then we have completed Heroic: Glory of the Ulduar Raider (June 29) and killed Algalon as 34th guild in the world. We were the 18th guild in the world (9th EU) to kill Yogg-Saron with zero watchers helping. We were the 25th guild in the world (14th EU) to get A Tribute to Insanity (25).
In Icecrown Citadel we unlocked hard modes in the second reset for 25 mans and in the first week for 10 mans, managing a world 10 kill (7 EU) for Lich King. (personally this was the kill I enjoy it the most. It is easy now but back then when no information was available and trying to get it down true the firsts was the best feeling ever!)
Considering hard modes we are at 11/12 ICC 10/25. Also, Immersion managed a server first Glory of the Icecrown Raider (10), and a world 4th or 5th and quite possibly a world first Alliance Shadowmourne!
2. What classes we need?
We are looking to recruit roughly 2-3 players out of the following classes:
- Ranged DPS
- Warlock
- Shadowpriest/Mage/Hunter
- Healing
- Druid
- Paladin
- Shaman
- Melee DPS/Tank
- Feral Druid
- Enhancement Shaman
- Deathknight
- Rogue
- DPS Warrior
- Ret Paladin
(We’re looking for a DPS that can tank when needed)
We always welcome applications from truly exceptionally good players. It is preferred that the people applying for our healer spots have experience/gear to play their DPS offspecs too.
3. How to apply?
This is quite easy: create an account on Immersion’s forums and send your application in a private message (yes, all the applications are and will stay private after you are invited as well/or not) to our officers (melee: Abraxa, Sarahchan; ranged: Avely; healers: Astro; tanks: Taldar).
A very important thing that needs to be mentioned is: Be sure your application has a WoL/WoWMeterOnline-parse of one of your recent 25-man raids (Logs of the latest content and/or previous hard modes are preferred) – If you don’t supply a parse your app will most likely be rejected
4. How it is in Immersion (a fairly fresh member point of view)
When I applied to Immersion I took care to spam Astro with different questions and… he was really nice and answered all of them. I was actually impressed with it because I know I can be very annoying some times. Now… I don’t tell you to bug officers if you did apply but if you have any questions they will answer as soon as they can.
The trial period is 1 month. To be honest at first I felt is a bit too much but now I totally agree with it. It gave me time to know people better and decide if I want to spent 20+h weekly with them. The raiding environment is very important for me and while all are very good raiders I can say they are not some elitist jerks that will make you to regret logging in.
Well, maybe some meters whores..:P Hey Sara! but not in a bad way. You will be able to sell your Power Infusion! or actually to sell for not casting it in certain fights. The atmosphere in guild is relaxed and not because the mistakes are passed over but because once done they won’t be repeated and everyone is playing with pleasure… I sure hope is so:P
